Empowering the Next Generation of Kenyan Leaders
Tumaini Brooks Centre began as a feeding program after founders David and Alice Hinga witnessed the severe poverty facing local children, many of whom were left unsupervised and hungry while their parents worked for a meagre wage in the coffee plantations.
What started as a simple porridge program for a few children quickly grew as the scale of the need became apparent. In response, the initiative evolved into a structured, holistic development program. Today, Tumaini Brooks Centre is a full school serving about 600 students from kindergarten through high school. To date, it has supported the educational and developmental needs of over 3,000 children from communities impacted by economic hardship, social unrest, and hunger.
Our Educational Programs
Our mission is to nurture the holistic development of children from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds by providing quality education, nutritious food, and meeting their basic needs to empower them to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential.
